Yesterday I drank and took an overdose of valium that I had bought off the internet. I don't remember what had happened afterwards, except I must have contacted my father in law (who has been on my side coz he witnessed the violence my husband perpertrated against me). The police had to break in and take me to hospital. I've now got a broken window in my front door and my back door was battered in. But they are small matters that I will have to deal with. Today I'm numb. So tired and emotionally drained.
My husbands cousins, father in law all came to support me at hospital - they are supporting me through all this. I nearly got sectioned but I convinced the Psychiatrist that I made a mistake and I do want to live. I'm scared though. Why did i do it?
My husband contacted me this morning, telling me that he loves me and wants to work it out. I love him but I don't know whether it is another game. I don't know what to do any more.

Hi sumrfy

Maybe this was a cry for help maybe it would of been better if you was sectioned does'nt mean your nuts just means your getting the right help.I think now your next step is to go a see your doctor today and have a chat with them , i would suspect your Dr would say you need counselling. When life gets tough i think mpeople think of the easiest way out but i always remember my sister in law who wanted to live so much but sadly passed away aged 24 from cystic fibrosis i think back to her and think of the battle she had every day just in order to live and i then know what a precious gift life is.Please don't do this again there is help on the end of the phone with the smaritains they will help you.

Like Angel said PLEASE see someone professional or at least talk to samaritans, they will give you some advice as to what to do. You can email with them so you dont even have to pick up the phone. Keep your life as stress free as possible and avoid akward or stressful situations.

Look after yourself and whatever you do DONT just do NOTHING!

I think you realise that you made a mistake, try and sort out whats making you feel so low and do it NOW!

x

Sorry to hear about this smurf. Please take care and try to take inspiration from other's stories - we can come through this. no matter how bad everything seems at the moment. Please follow up with all your doctor's appointments, hospital appointments, etc and hopefully the issues behind this will be addressed and, eventually, overcome.

You ask why you did it, despite the efforts you went to stocking up with valium off the Intenet. This sounds to me like one of the effects of depression - doing something that requres considerable pre-planning or effort and not knowing why. If you thjink you might be suffering from depression, please discuss this with your GP. There are many of us on wiki who take ADs at the moment, and many more (me included) who feel they need them

Try to surround yourself with friends and family for a while, and come back to wiki to vent, chat and talk about what's going on. For me, all of these things helped in my darkest days

Please take care smurf

We all feel low at times and yes Ive often thought that the bye bye route would be the best option. Thats passing now but comes back from time to time. When I get these thoughts I have to stop and think. Why should I give them the satisfaction. Who else would I hurt. Yep get the help you need and use every bit of help to get back on your feet. If contact hurts stop it. If contact helps and gives you hope consider the options if it doesn't. Keep posting we are all here. Polar

Agree with the last two post's.

There is always help at hand somewhere,

Why not come into the chat room and talk about things and ask for help. You will find your not alone.

life is precious please don't waste it.

Make an appointment to see your doctor today. They are exceptionally good in these circumstances. You will probably be put on suicide watch for a few days and tell you not to be on your own. Its no bad thing. Relate are good, but you can wait a while for an appointment.

I know how hard it is to look ahead, but it sounds like you have good support around you, people who love and care for you and would be devastated if you had succeeded yesterday. Positives do come of these things I promise you. They're just hard to see right now. You must talk to someone, even a stranger, and you have to be honest and be able to get it all out. Even the things you don't want to admit to. I think there are times when its those things that haunt us that bring us down. Don't bury them, get them out, discuss them, then with someones help you can make sense of them, and then with time, you'll look back and maybe yesterday will be the lowest point. You could be on the start of better days. The worst of it could be over. I hope so. They so you hit rock bottom then it starts to get better... x
