I thought we could have a thread where we can post our new challenges on

I have set myself a challenge to learn to run. I''m hoping it will be good for the mind and the body.

My challenge is to compete in a 5 - 10 km run by the end of the year. I''m joining a beginners session next Friday so wish me luck.

Go faster trainers brought, new trainer socks and the compulsory sports bra.

If there are any alerts of earth tremors around the Wiltshire area next Friday don''t worry, it''s only me walking / jogging by.

Will keep you up to date on how I''m get along.

All the best x

Great idea for a thread, my challenge is to study an online course in surface pattern design I''ve just done the first module and I''m really enjoying it, it have lots of others the second that would make feel the best in my life would be to get rid of this crippling fear I have about my future, something I need to work on though.

Did you have a look at the C25K program (couch to 5k training program, with podcasts and help)
Did the first week, developed plantar fasciitis...got told off by GP (why are you running with fallen arches) doh!

Good luck! Once running gets under your skin you''ll never look back. You will probably be able to enter a 10k a lot sooner than the end of the year though. Check out if there is a Park Run in your area, a timed and measured 5k that''s free every week, good for plotting your progress.

Good one Home alone, running is great, you should definitely be able to do your 5 or 10k run by the end of the year, if you slowly but surely increase how far and how long you are jogging for.
I''m trying to do something creative and calming (on the advice of my crocheting guru sister in law)- I would like to knit a scarf, despite being very impatient and messy with crafty stuff.
