Hi,

I have a fixed price Consent Order - which was originally being dealt with by The Law Practice.

Since the demise of The Law Practice earlier this year, I was advised that my consent order would now be transferred to (and completed by) Brethertons, however I have not received any communication from Brethertons.

Today, my ex being the impatient thing she is, informed me that she has initiated a consent order/financial settlement via a solicitor of her own (incidentally the same one that her new partner is using with his ex).

My questions are as follows:
- With my existing consent order, can I instruct Brethertons as my solicitor in response to any requirements requested from my ex''s solicitor?
- If I cannot, how do I go about obtaining a refund for my consent order?

Thank you,

Mike

Mike,

Please contact Wikivorce Customer Services by calling 01202 805020.

Or email us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Our advisors are available 7 days a week til 11pm and would be very happy to help you with this matter.

In short, Brethertons can still assist by providing you with the necessary legal advice regarding the Consent Order that her solicitor is now drafting.

As the fixed fee for this legal advice is £99, which is less than the £139 that you originally paid for the Consent Order drafting - you would also qualify for a £40 rebate on the fee paid.
