my ex has told me his solicitor said he can claim any money left to me by my parents when they die even after we have divorce which hopefully should be soon and i hope my parents last a few more years yet

I think your ex has misunderstood. Potential inheritances are only relevant when they are imminent. Inheritances aren't certain, wills can be changed, testators outlive beneficiaries and courts can't compel a potential benefactor to disclose.
