Sorry that I can't help Dellou, but what is a 'mortgage capacity statement'?

Ok, I have just researched and found out what a mortgage capacity statement is. For what reasons would a court ask to see this?

Hi Ginpin-the courts ask for this mainly if you go to final hearing- basically its to get a clear view as to whether or not you are able to take over the mortgage on the marital home or able to obtain a mortgage on a smaller or similar property or to take out a remortgage to raise funds for stbx.xx

A lot of the independent mortgage advisors will come out to your home to see you. I don't know if you can apply for it to be done online.

Thank Dellou,
Is this another hurdle then, proving to the court as well as your mortgage company that you can take the mortgage on?
I was hoping to buy my STBX out and then reduce the mortgage so as to fit affordability, with gifting from family.
