I'm waiting for a call from my solicitor to learn whether my ex has insisted that house be sold to first bidder or whether he will agree for me to pay mortgage for remaining 8 months of 20 year term and leave house on market. If the decision is that the house must be sold, how long can I reasonably take to pack up and leave? I have nowhere to go at present and things would have to go into storage.
At the end of next month we would not be charged a settlement figure for early repayment. Can I delay until after November 30th then? Can I delay until I have somewhere to go?

Is there already an order: if so, what does it say? If not, I don't see how your ex can insist on sale at any particular time, he has no more say on his own than you do.

Presumably your solicitor has had something to say about this??
