Hi All,

Married young and it lasted 3-4 years with 1 baby boy. Broke down at 3 year=s, tried for 1 more year and we got nowhere so we separated. We rented and I left her with Everything other than the clothes and shoes I left with. She sold the items and took a few holidays with her new bf before moving in with her family.

Now I'm nowhere near a Saint but I picked up my son every weekend and paid £250 per month. Paid off the £4.5k debt we ran up + paid off her car until the end of the agreement i.e. 2yrs after.

Year 3 now and I bought a house (with a legally documented loan from a family member) and applied for divorce... stupid of me I guess not finalising the divorce first. Now she's applied for her Rights on the property and wishes to treat it as a family home.

Now I just read divorce forum and I'm shocked by what the law lets people get away with

Oh this is shocking,

Surly as she has never lived in the home ( no post in her name) it can be seen as family home.

Sorry to hear this,
