Hi, I have asked my partner of 16 years to leave. We havent been happy for a number of years and it has all come to ahead. I cant face another "New Year" together. We have two children under the age of 5 and receive Child Tax Credits for nursery fees. I think this will increase when my partner leaves.
However, I dont think I will be able to pay the mortgage on my own. Would I get any help towards the mortage?
I know I wont get Working Tax Credits (my salary is above the limit, even working P/T) and I know I will get a reduction on my Council Tax.
But, is there any help towards the mortage or will I have to sell the house and find cheaper rented accomodation?
Thanks

Not sure about help/assistance towards the mortgage (although I assume your ex will be paying child maintenance), but have you checked the price of renting in your area?

I left my ex and am now paying twice in rent on a fairly grotty house for me and the kids than he pays on the mortgage in our old beautiful home in a nice area.

Hopefully a wise Wiki will be along to advise on the other soon

Good luck on your journey
