HI guys, sorry for clumsiness here but first time user

we wife has applied for a divorce and up until about three weeks ago everything was amicable, she originally threw me out of the house so was sleeping rough in carparks in my car she then started using a solicitor and since then everything has changed, she has cancelled our mediation without even speaking to me, she cancelled both out credit cards which she does have a right to do as i was the second cardholder, this really caused issues as I was abroad and needed them for car hire etc etc. she has very recently cancelled our joint accoint in which both our wages go into, so i was pennyless and could not even get out of the car park at work she then found a card which i applied for at the beginning of the proceedings and put in just enough money for me to live on till i could my wages transferred into this, we have substancial savings but have no access to them even just to look at . I cannot afford a solicitor as I work for the NHS and my wages are about twenty times less than hers, and she knows this, so any advice on how to proceed would be appreciated, thanks guys

Welcome to Wikivorce, although I'm sorry you have a need to be here.

It's pretty standard to have separate bank accounts when going through a divorce, but it would have been kinder if she had given you some notice before making changes to the credit cards and bank accounts.

Have you currently got access to your wages, and enough money to live on?

Unless there is the appropriate order in place, such as an occupation order, she can't just throw you out. You have a legal right to remain living in the property - it's your home too - even if the house is in just her name. If it is, I suggest you file a home rights Notice via the Land Registry to protect your home rights, ie the right to live there, and so that the house can't be sold from underneath you.

All assets, whether in sole or joint names need to be disclosed as part of sorting out the financial settlement, including providing up to date bank statements etc. This is usually done via a form E, which is the standard financial disclosure form used.

Wikivorce offer a free 20 minute consultation, might be worth booking one for some advice?
