Hello. Am looking to challenge my solicitor over her fees before I dump her. 4 years at 12k - to get absolutely nowhere. Incorrect pension figures were slotted into both form E and the document submitted to the fo the (pointless!!) mediated hearing. If I had been more on the ball at the time, I might have realised it - but I wasn't on the ball, and was relying on my lawyer. I am going to tell her why I am challenging her bill, and my question is: do I need to pay her now, and then start a challenge? Thank you. Kara

Welcome to Wikivorce.

You should ask for a copy of the firm's complaints procedure first of all. Then ask for your bill to be put in dispute while you go through your previous bills. All bills should be itemised; if you haven't received itemised bills ask for a copy of all bills which are to be fully itemised. You can then scrutinise the bills for any inaccuracies.
