Hi, A simple case dragged out for 18 months, no efforts by either solicitor to settle out of court that i can determine, quoted £2,000-3250 - and so far its £9 and £11k to finish, so they claim. Ridiculous?

Any advice beyond sending a long and detailed complaint letter. im tempted to send a short letter but feel that Id likely be at a disadvantage so need to throw the kitchen sink as it'll go all the way to the ombudsmen im certain. thanks

Did you instruct your solicitor to make an offer to settle out of court.

Presumably you have had to pay as you go along? Why did you retain their services if you weren't happy?

one of three steps was to settle out of court, yes. I've been recovering from mental illness and trusted them. perpetually felt we were getting somewhere to then realise we were getting no where and wanted to get a decision, a stake in the sand from the solicitor as something to justify the fees I'd paid, and all they did was confirm 12 months later what one of their former colleague confirmed at the start. hence why im fuming as they're just repeating the same thing re the claim too. I had complained a few months ago about the fees but they suspiciously avoided responding and claimed perhaps our 'relationship' had broken down. It will be on Tuesday, when once again I hear what they have to say, but I wont be paying their bill.
