Hello - I would like to apply for a divorce and would need a Consent Order drafted shortly after.
My husband and I do not have children and liabilities. Our assets are some cash in the bank plus the mandatory pension schemes we both have had through our employments. We divided those assets over a year ago and live separately since then.
My questions are
- could we draft the consent order using a template from the internet and without using a lawyer?
- could we go through the rest of the divorce procedure without using a lawyer, provided we agree on everything between ourselves?
- if we have to use the lawyer, would you please recommend someone decent and cheap, assuming there is not much work to be done in our case?

You really do need the consent order to be drafted properly to endure it is legally watertight.

It is a good idea to have some advice on the settlement to make sure it is fair and that the consent order will be agreed by the court.
