Research on accessing legal service

An independent research organisation - are looking for participants for a telephone survey we are doing for the Solicitors Regulation Authority to explore experiences of finding and using a legal help for divorce, separation, family mediation or contact arrangements for children. Specifically the research will look at the availability, quality and cost of legal support.

The researchers are looking for participants who have needed to or have accessed legal support in the last few years to take part in a telephone survey. Specifically they are interested to hear from people who:

• have used solicitors,

• received informal advice from someone else, or

• received no legal help at all and have represented themselves.

The research will explore:
1. Consumer views about access, cost and quality in receiving family law services

2. The impact of recent changes to legal aid on accessing services (i.e. since introduction of LASPO, 2012)

All information collected through the survey will be kept confidential used to produce a report for the SRA using the aggregate findings rather than any individual responses.
