I was sent a draft Petition at the beginning of
July from my stbx''s solicitor to divorce me on 5 years separation. I have not and do not want to sign it so what happens if I don''t?

I also shortly after had a threatening letter from her saying that if I didn''t sign it he would divorce me for unreasonable behaviour! Although my stbx tells me he wants it to be an amicable split.

We have also now seen the mediator separately regarding the finances. She is now harassing me about us meeting together which I am also delaying, I suppose because I feel it is the final nail in the coffin! I understand finances are a completely separate procedure.

The reason I am doing the above is frankly I feel it is all a big mistake and we should try to work things out. Any advice would be appreciated.

Unfortunately - it takes two to make a marriage work

If you have one party who is determined to get out of it, (s)he almost certainly will.

You don''t have to co-operate with a divorce you don''t want. You can hold on and hope his attutude will change. But if your x2b is determined there is little you can do to stop it.

Sorry.
