What''s the difference between a Clean Break and a Consent Order?
My ex has applied for a clean break order.

Clean break means your finances are completely separated and neither has any future claim on the other. This is ideally what everyone wants as it gives certainty but isn''t always possible to achieve.

Consent order basically means you both agreed to it and presented it to the court for their approval rather than an order that the court decided and imposed upon you.

Best result would be a clean break consent order, you have the certainty of knowing that your financial ties are ended and you and your ex agreed the terms.
