Hello Again Anon

You don''t both need to sign the Petition, just you if you are the Petitioner (or your solicitor if they are dealing with it) Once you send it off to the Court you will get a letter from them confirming the date it was posted to your ex. Your ex then needs to sign and return an Acknowledgment. This is the bit I am waiting for.

It sounds like he doesn''t want a divorce anyway so you will be bending over backwards for nothing and I don''t believe starting from a point of weakness is that way to go with this sort of guy (a cheating bully). He doesn''t get to change it. You have to convince a Judge that you cannot live with his behaviour. If he wants to try and argue in court that somehow the relationship has not broken down and that you should remain married then sobeit. He is also deluded if he thinks waiting 2 years will somehow mean he has no financial responsibilties towards you.

Damn right he''s scared how much this is going to cost him.

Hi
From what I understand your solicitor is correct sending a draft of the Petition to your ex in advance is best practice for the reasons he has given. It gives the other side the opportunity to request that reasons are amended. BUT divorce on grounds of UB does not require consent so although you may consider any requested changes you don''t necessarily have to make them.
You have said your s2bx is somewhat controlling / overbearing and while it is possible to do this bit by yourself it is probably as well to have a solicitor act for you.
