I''m not saying that either of these authorities would become directly involved in your complaint.
The police will get involved if for example there is a question of blackmail or extortion by the Solicitor as they would with any business and I''ve seen this in the area of Company Law.
The Inland Revenue will have an interest if there is the merest suggestion that a business is trying to defraud the Inland Revenue, for example they don''t put a VAT number on their invoice, it is your right to make such a complaint against any business that acts in this way.
I''m not saying that these are relevant in your case, but the actions of a Solicitor come under the same jurisdiction as every other business you deal with, they are no different. I''m not even suggesting that you deal with a Solicitor any more harshly than anyone else you do business with, just treat them in exactly the same fair way!
