Hi Wikis, just feeling a bit cheesed of that I instructed my solicitor 3 weeks ago on an exchange of finances and they are still looking into the paperwork after asking me to put something in writing, are they just dragging it out?......just wondering whether I should change sol or carry on, is this reasonable?

Solicitors don''t do anything quickly - if you''re happy with them after your initial interview stick with them if you''re not happy maybe you ought to consider looking elsewhere but bear in mind you will have to pay their fees if any before you move.

3 weeks in family law-time isn''t long, although it seems like it is to the client.

They could be waiting on the other side to confirm stuff/send over paperwork, which will hold things up.

As clients we want to see things moving along quickly and sometimes forget that the solicitor has lots of other clients; it would be worth asking them when they expect to start on the draft Consent Order.

Had all paperwork back 5 weeks ago, and told when I rang up that they were still looking at paperwork.........I know they work really slowly in our eyes, but when told to put something in writing 3 weeks ago i expect someone to have looked at the paperwork, maybe I am expecting to much, by the time I get this sorted my 12 year old will be 18 and where will that leave me :(a few years older and deeper in debt....crying as i write this, don''t see any end
