Hi

my solicitor says it will take her three hours intensive office time to complete the form E, is this correct?

Thanks

3 hours is more than reasonable.

Form E is something you could complete yourself and save money :)although it may take you longer than 3 hours.

Have a look at the attached links and see what it entails.

Time is spent collating the supporting documentation (P60, pay slips, bank statements, pension valuation, mortgage statement etc.)

Hi Thanks

Am I able to tell my solicitor that I want to complete this instead of her, as we are headed for court and lots of expense already.

I am unhappy with her anyway, so considering changing solicitors anyway, but don''t want to delay issues.

I have gathered all the information (or most of it) which she has a while ago. So she is working off what I have done already.

Appreciate your response

You could have a chat with her and explain the costs are escalating and you want to do what you can to keep the costs down.

If you''ve dug out all the info for your Form E so far, all you''ll need to do is transpose the relevant info into the relevant section. One of the links on my previous reply was a ''How To'' guide.

Each individual case is different and some are more complicated than others, not knowing your circumstances I couldn''t comment on whether to drop your Sol or not.

What you may be able to suggest is that rather than representing you (fully) you use her ad-hoc.

3 hours is more that average for a Form E but it depends upon the amount of attachments and the complexity of the finances as to how long it will take to complete the Form E.

It is important to get the form right otherwise you may do yourself a disservice.

Download the form form the court site or collect from the court. I wish I had done mine. I am now self representing, as cant afford any more fees and ex not replying. I have my Financial dispute resolution meeting next week and will represent myself in court again.
