hello everyone-
I started my divorce application in March 06 and my sol has failed to advise me- and only attached my ex husband's sol's letters, asking for me to act. He is cahrging me far too much( only divorce so far and now isue on child contact- - - barrister involved...so much money eg £1400 last week and now he is asking for £1000 more. When I ask him to tell me how much his charges are, he says, do not worry and does not want to let me know- I had to do my court statement myself...he asked me to see him today- as I arrived there i had to wait for to long, then he ws on the phone, and he was talking to my ex's sol...anyway I have very kindly asked him to inform me of his charges and he again said do not worry...
So I told him I wanted the info by tomorrow, and then he said I can hold on to the £1000. What do you think of this guys?

Yes i can understand your feelings - just about finished a 2 and a half year divorce. have just had our 3rd final hearing - my sol was very good but she charged £120 an hour she always sent me a detailed invoice of everything she charged me for. But a lot of the the work was for routine paperwork and (what i would call non essential items). The cost so far was about £6000 - just ran out of money in the end so i had to finish her. The last two court visits i did myself - i was relying on most of the work my sol had done in the past to be honest but it seemed to go well , i was really pleased no to be paying £120 an hour for waiting about in the court reception for 3 hours a time. Hope you get some luck - remember there,s more than one sol in the country try shopping around or doing it yourself !
