Hi all
Getting tired of waiting for the petition to arrive in the post.I have waited 10wks now to find out. My sol sent letter to ex2b asking about it. Still nothing. The court he sent it to normally takes four wks. Is there a way I can find out from the court if he has filed for divorce. All I have to go on is one letter from ex2b saying the papers were submitted.
What should I do now ?
Can I speed the process and file for divorce or will this cause more problems? My local court takes 7 days on average according to my sol.

Hi Gorgeous,

I would phone the court and ask whether they have a petition filed in your name, if not how long it is taking to process them at the moment. You can then either wait this amount of time and ring back or you could ask your solicitor to write to him asking for the date the petition was filed and advising that if it is the case that it has not yet been filed that if you have not received papers by a certain date that you will in fact be filing a petition yourself.

Obviously if he has filed it would be pointless you filing but I can understand your frustration and if infact he hasn't filed then at least you could then control the time scale.

Hope this helps.

Sarah.
