Solicitors fees

Hi can anyone help me,

Can you anyone let me know, when appointing a solicitor can I pay for the solicitors fees once I have sold my family home.

It's up to the firm of solicitors but it is not unheard of.

Ask that they don't charge you interest on their fees and do not charge you for setting up the arrangement.

They probably will but there's no harm in having the discussion out and in the open at the start to avoid a surprise later.

Also ask for monthly itemised bills and tell them that although their fee is being deferred until the sale (does it have to be sold?) of the FMH that does not mean they do not have to follow your instructions. They advise, you instruct.

I have a problem with paying my Sol as I have no way of doing it !! He knows my situation though and is willing to let me pay on account he said .... if I lose then I will pay from the sale of the house but I am hoping and praying I keep the house, so there will be no money and I will have to take out a loan but I dont want to take out a loan until I know what the bill is.

most sols charge around £120-150 an hour a barrister can cost £600 an hour.
if you and your s2bx agrea everything and there no complications the perfect divorce as it were could be as low as £500-£600 i think wiki say around £800.
it depends on many factors
if you and s2bx can talk and be reasnobale it will save money.

My sol charges £180 an hour and he told me I could expect a bill of around £2 - £2500 depending on how much my x2b argued ....

Mine was £250 per hour.....and certainly not worth it given that she did nothing since september lasr year and failed twice to appear at hearings.....then walked as she construed my concerns about her lack of service as criticism
