I have just received a draft Consent Order off STBX solicitor.

It is clearly deal of the century in my favour.
I pay STBX £xxx amount in 30 days of divorce absolute and he transfers the house over to me.
Nothing else is involved,Clean Break and i get a conveyancing solicitor to deal with the transfer and payment at the same time.

Do i still need to seek legal advice as this is what has been put in the paperwork.

Yes you do. The judge signing the order needs to be assured that both parties have taken independent legal advice on the consent order, and that both parties are fully aware of the clauses and what they mean. You risk the judge not sealing the consent order if you don't seek your own legal advice.

Wikivorce offers a service for about £99, call the helpline for more information.

Whilst Sylvia is correct, you may run the risk of the DJ not approving a consent order if you have not had independent legal advice, it is not imperative that you do get legal advice, in all circumstances.

I note you have attended a FDA in Financial Proceeding and the DJ gave his opinion at first hearing so likely it will be approved as more favourable to you rather than Husband who I believe is legally represented. It is your decision, as long as you believe you have received full disclosure and it is a settlement you feel is fair and you can live.

Best Wishes
Deborah
