This is the first in what maybe a number of posts as I am now embarking as an LIP in a Special order case and then for a FHDRA case. I have so far received some very good straight forward advice from the wiki team, and they have advised me to come onto the forum for further advice.

For now, it is the Special Order case I am seeking advice on. All I am looking to do is take my daughter on holiday to Canada and the USA to spend time with friends and family, including her godfather. Clearly there is a benefit to my daughter in having this holiday.

Following the first hearing, my stbx and I have exchanged Position Statements. My sbtx is represented and I am an LIP.
My Position Statement is two pages long and focused and addresses solely the issues directed by the Deputy Court Judge at the first hearing. My stbx''s solicitor prepared Position Statement is 20 pages long and is way outside the issue as directed by the Deputy District Court Judge, in my opinion anyway.

The advice I am seeking is this:

Should I prepare a counter for each of the 37 points raised in her Position statement? My concern here is that I get dragged into an argumentative situation and away from the focus of the hearing, which is will our daughter benefit from the holiday?

Is it possible that the Deputy District Court Judge will dismiss some of the none relevant 37 points before giving the Position Statement to the District Judge?

Will the District Judge expect me to counter each of the 37 points even though there are no relevant?

Thank you for your patience with the long post.
