well had my first mediation appointment today and although very stressful I feel like I have come away more positive.

Two options to me really offered by ex:

1. Me to pay him between £10k and £20k. In return I get to keep the house which equity could be worth between £117k and £130k also keep caravan and get a small percentage share of his pension (to be discussed how much). Also him to continue to pay me £1200 per month for next 18mths.

option 2 - same as above with no payment to him but no pension share.

In both options he wants confirmation that I will sell house in 18mths and release him from the mortgage.

So not as bad as I anticipated but just the fine details to hammer out. Next session is this week to hopefully do this.

Any views or points that I have missed peeps??

How much is the pension worth and what is your proposed share?

Is seems odd that you are to pay him a lump sum but he will pay you £21600 over the next 18 months. How was this decided?

When would you put the house on the market? Is the agreement that you will put it up for sale in 18 months or that it be sold within 18 months? If the house won''t sell, what will you do as you will be in breach of agreement?

Hi Charles

Thanks for responding.

The CETV value of the pension is £220k. He retires in 10 years.

The £1200 is part CSA of £700 and a further £500 to help me with living costs while I am not working. I return to work September 2013.

My original proposal to him was for me to have a 25% pension share but he indicated today this was too much. We didn''t agree on a % but after speaking to my sol today she advised not to go less than 15% due to the costs involved in pension sharing.

I would look to put the house on the market in the spring of 2013 giving me 12mths to sell the house. I am confident that it will sell within these time frames at a realistic asking price.
Obviously the finer details need to be discussed such as the eventuality that the house would not sell.

The reason he wants cash from me is for a deposit for a house - he has no other way of raising a deposit.

I hope I have answered everything you need to know.

Thanks
