Hi

Would be really grateful for some urgent advice.

My ex has made himself intentionally unemployed so that he can avoid paying me and my kids maintenance/support!

However i am very sure he has found another job but is going to keep this a secret from me so that he can avoid paying me and my kids anything.

How can i tell if he has found another job?

Also he has a shared house in UK with his mother which is on Rent so he can actually go unemployed for 1 or 2 years and live off the Rent he gets from this house and live with his parents.

Thank you very much O

Not sure where you are but if you are using the law in England and Wales for your divorce and financial settlement, he has to declare all assets and income. Bank statements and other financial documents have to be produced as evidence.

If he makes himself intentionally jobless to try to defeat a financial claim, the court may consider his earning potential unchanged and make orders accordingly.
