Spousal Maintenance... how is it paid?!!

This is a really small question...
IF at final hearing my partner is ordered to pay spousal maintenance to his x2b how is it usually paid? i.e monthly cheque? Direct Debit? or is it deducted somehow directly from his salary & he get's what's left?!:unsure:

I think it's largely a matter for negotiation but a standing order would be normal. Deduction from salary is something which would normally considered as a methof enforcement in case of default.
