Hi
My partner has lied on his form E and missed out some accounts he has. He has given away property and large sums of money to his adult children from a previous marriage of circa £125,000. We’ve been together over 25 years. When he moved in with me in year 2000 I already owned my own house with equity of £120,000. He brought no assets to the marriage other than a less than 50% share in a house from a previous marriage. He was still paying the mortgage on that house which he paid off in 2003 with £12,000 bonus he got from work.
He has since transferred that property in 2017 to his two adult children. He did this secretly without my knowledge at the time. He has a pension CETV of £450,000. We are both 70 years old.
My question is, what would the likely settlement be if we went to Final Hearing. I can’t afford a solicitor as I’m living off my state pension. He has a solicitor and it’s cost him £7000 in legal fees so far. I just need some guidance around what I should expect if I negotiate at the FDR. Thank you for any advice.
