Hi I have been in limbo for years terrified by what life will be like after a divorce but knowing that our marriage is done and we live as housemates. I’m over sixty and am not looking forward to twenty more years in a spent marriage and possibly regretting not getting out. Is companionship enough? Sometimes I know I’m done and just want out and then I become paralysed by fear of loneliness.

I am 63, he has been gone a year, after 20 years of marriage. It's been a tough year, or rather the first few months,I was filled with shock and dread. But my friends have rallied round, I have made new ones too and have found I can get up, sleep, eat when I like, without having to tread on eggshells. I do miss the companionship of a relationship a little, but all the freedom and fun compensate well for it. Would I have hime back? NO! no regrets/

Best thing I did was join meetup.com. its not a dating site, it just lets you meet up with other people in your area for, things like, having coffees, going to the cinema, going to a barn dance, going for a walk, even going to christmas fairs. Its a bit more difficult with covid and numbers are limited, but it means you meet a whole new crowd.
