Maybe its not that simplistic. I could have been accused of that in my marriage to Ex. He probably could have said that I frustrated him sexually, wasnt interested etc etc.

Thing is I wanted love, affection and a physical relationship. He wanted sex and I felt like an "object". Maybe you could argue that its just another difference between men and women.

I just think there may be a number of reasons why women/men go off sex. I actually hadnt gone off sex, I just wanted him to want me and respect me in everyday life.

No offence

I accept your point about the emotional input.

If the man is giving the emotional input and the woman does not respond then its curtains as far as I am concerned.

Its no good living in a loveless marriage.

Yep. Youre so right.

I think my post also implied that only women need the emotional support. Wrong. Over generalisation on my part. I believe that most normal men also need the emotional input. Just in case anyone thought I was being sexist.

Hello,

I am new to the site but can fully understand your feelings, my husband left me 7/02/07 and I am still devastated. He turned into a man I do not know, and the comment from 'specialdad' although I know this does happen, was not relevant in our case, we had sex regularly, and even two days before my husband left me. I discovered when he left that there was another woman involved at work, and he is still having a relationship with her now, despite my begging her to back off and let us figure out what to do. During our marriage my husband repeatedly looked at porn on the internet, maybe there is a theme? I do not have anything against it and was happy to allow my husband to express himself and I always thought we were happy and openminded. I was with David for ten years, and despite the terrible pain and hurt he has caused me I will love him always, and unfortunately think he will always be my one true love, twelve months on the only thing I can be sure of, is that the man I was so in love with has changed and I have not, I beg you do not blame yourself, and in a strange way you must find the strength not to chase him, the more you chase hom the further he will go, take it from someone who got it all wrong. I am still trying hard to get it right!

i hope for you things will change and you will find each other again. Take comfort from people who love you and tell your little girl everyday that she is the most special thing in the world.

Sending you all a warm hug and friendship

Emalou

I think it has to be a lesson for everyone that if there is no emotional input coming when you are prepared to give it then its time to catch the train out.

It destroys your soul to give all the time and receive nothing in return.

Reading Tinny and Specialdad's exchange reminds of a thread I started some time back - Why do people start affairs

www.wikivorce.com/divorce/Divorce-Forum/...e-start-affairs.html

I have to agree, that when a bi-directional exchange of affection stops, so does the relationship.

I have a theory that some people cant stay faithful. They crave attention and seek it anyway they can. After a while relationships dip a bit and thats totaly normal. Along comes a knight in shining armour all fresh and new. The other party on the other hand just does normal boring things but this guy or gal is exciting. Shows loads of attention and thats that. They jump ship. Thats essentialy what happned to me. Not saying that is alaways the case and sex isnt all. I was having sex with my ex until May 7th 2006 (the night of long knives). All the bleach in the world would not remove the creeping crawling feeling on my skin. Chris.
