Hello ladies, thank you for the info.

I am not a social media person facebook, tweet and all that. And I am still not clear what the buttons do, sorry.

Does this mean that anything I write on wikivorce can be tweeted or put on facebook?

Sorry I am such a dunce with this social media stuff.

Sorry Nige,

My explanation perhaps isn''t too good :(

Yes, you can share Wikivorce content on Twitter and on Facebook.

Whichever page is displayed on Wikivorce, if you click on the ''f Like'' button, you can post it on your FaceBook page. If you click on ''Tweet'', you can post it on your Twitter account as a link.

Hope that helps.

Sorry - why would anyone want to do that? I''m not sure that I want anything relating to me to be posted on those sites. I know of course that everything here is public, but I am not happy with it having a wider audience. I know I don''t use my real name but people who know me could identify me and there have been instances of other people accidentally letting slip real names. Once that is off this site the danger of it being impossible to put right quickly surely increases?

Maybe I am missing the point (I''m not really a social media savvy person) but I don''t get it. And why would wikivorce want to do that anyway? Do you need to increase traffic to this site (why? are you making money through clicks?) and would posting stuff on facebook achieve that? Sorry, I am out of my depth and confused. Not trying to be difficult, just trying to understand.

Hi Eliza, it can be anything here - not just stuff you post.

Many people want to share valuable points of view and opinions if they feel they have friends who may be going through something similar. Or just use it as a voice to air their views.

You can share articles from the Magazine and information from our library.

Rubytuesday has just published some fantastic information she and Forseti wrote about the recent changes to Family Law - I shared this on Facebook and Twitter to ensure it reaches people who it may be of interest to, but would not be members of this site.

We have some fantastic contributors and a wealth of information here that many may not know about.

However some people may want their thoughts, views and situation private - so they don''t post it ;)

You can''t get a wider audience than ''public'' any Google search for Divorce and its specifics throws up this site and relevant posts/threads.

We don''t make money from clicks, Wikivorce is volunteer run and relies on Government sponsorship and charitable donations, promoting the site is always beneficial though. The more people know about Wikivorce the better.

Hi Eliza
I don''t use twitter and facebook etc because I don''t like it and I too am not keen on the idea. But as WR correctly points out, this is a public site and what we write can now be tweeted goodness knows how many times and facebooked etc. to anyone and everyone. People can use it to share and to air a point of view. It''s the way of the world these days.

I guess the takeout is, if we don''t want it shared via these sites, don''t post it. I will be thinking more carefully before posting. Thank you for clearing this up for me WR, I appreciate the explanation and I will just need to be more careful in posting only stuff I would be happy to have on fb, tweet google and stuff. I understand the need for the site to be more widely known.

Are the pms still private White Rose. I am thinking they would be as they are not generally seen. Presumably the blogs and comments can be distributed at a click ?

Thanks again for the info. I am glad to be aware.

Nige
