Final 2 days of Voting for the Awards

The polls in the fourth annual Wikivorce awards close at midnight tomorrow (Wednesday 9th April).

You''ll find the voting module on the community page and on the Forum pages. Scroll down the module is on the left above the links to the wiki-magazine articles.


Click on "Click Here to Vote 2014"
the categories will then drop down

scroll down and under each category is an empty box with a small triangle on the right - click the triangle and a list of names will drop down

choose the person you want to vote for and do the same for each category.

When you have finished click on the vote button at the bottom. There will be no vote button if you have already voted.

As always, those members who are named in the voting list have been nominated by other members, as a way of saying "thank you" for the contributions each nominee has made to Wikivorce over the previous 12 months. Likewise, the "winners" will be voted for by the members themselves.

The winners will be announced on the forum over this weekend.

This will probably be the last year that Wikivorce runs the annual awards - not because we feel it isn''t worthwhile but simply due to a lack of interest and engagement form the members. It takes many hours to set up the awards, collating the nominations, doing the technical stuff for the voting module, and then collating the final results and writing a small piece on each individual winner - none of which would be possible without our community manger, rubytuesday. She feels her time, and that of the moderating team would be better spent on helping members on the forum, and generally ensuring the site is well-run (something that takes many hours each week - all unpaid). However, if people get voting, and post their support for the Awards on this thread, the awards may run next year if there is sufficient interest.

Come on guys, cast your votes!

This is a light-hearted bit of fun but it is also a wonderful way of expressing appreciation for those who respond to posts. It also encourages some good-natured competition and bumps up the number of responses, which can''t be a bad thing.
