Hi Folks,

just an update of my situation. I attended a meeting last thursday with my daughters guidance teacher, they were very helpful and happy for me to be involved in assisting with my daughters school absence. I will now be sent copies of her school report and be informed when she is absent from school.
Im trying my best to assist her mother too, but feel im hitting my head off a brick wall. My daughter bunked off school again on monday there, but unfortunatley i never found out till five in the evening, i was worried sick as none of my daughters friends were aware of here where abouts, anyway she turned up after all. My ex wife asked me yesterday for advice on how long my daughter should be grounded for, i suggested she should be in over the weekend and we could see how she goes with attending school next week. My daughter wanted to go out last night, which i did not approve of, however rather than taking a stance my ex-wife told her to discuss it with me. Im trying desperatley to resolve this situation but really feel it will take both my ex and me to stand firm and not allow our daughter to play one off the other. I explained to my daughter last night that i felt she should be at home this weekend as a result of her not attending school, so lo and behold im now the bad guy and my daughter wont speak to me. I did ask my ex-wife to attend the school meeting with me, but she refused. Where do i go from here ? stop offfering advice ? who knows.
