Hello All,

I am in receipt of a non-molestation order (emotional & psychological abuse) and am awaiting a hearing date for an occupation order which my stbex will be attending. I'm hoping to represent myself.

Can anyone please advise how I go about preparing for the hearing? Are there any specific forms / documents I need to provide the court with prior to the hearing? Do I have to send anything to my ex in advance of the hearing?

Also I am not the best public speaker and have a regional accent. My ex is public school educated and sounds quite RP. I don't have much in savings so can I represent myself? If so any tips for not sounding stupid in front of the judge? When I saw the judge (I went alone and dropped off the application and my statement at court) at the ex parte hearing he asked if I'd sought any legal advice re the divorce and when I said I'd seen my local solicitor for an initial fixed fee appointment he said that I ought to consider having them represent me re the occupation order. I felt like the judge was trying to give me a steer as I know I'm not the most articulate of humans but funds need to be saved for financial proceedings down the track.

The judge already has the statement I submitted at the ex parte hearing when I got the non mol order, do I need to do another one for the occupation order hearing?

My ex has breached the non mol order many times since it was granted. I've kept records of this but I've not gone to the police as yet.

Also the judge listed the occupation order hearing for 15minutes??? Is that normal?

Any advice very gratefully received. Thank you.
