I will be attending my FDR soon, May 12th.
It is really about splitting the proceeds of the FMH so asking for any ideas of what I may come out with?
Cohabitation and marriage - 14 years
2 children aged - 15 and 6 years of age
I earn an income of approx. £26,000 and will need to rehouse myself and our two children.
He changed his jobs where he was earning approx.£35,000 to a term time only job where he now earns approx. £21,000.
My pension is very small £4,000 and he has stated that he does not have any pension?
He has been living with his partner in her home (Local authority property) but states that he rents a room elsewhere but has no evidence of rent payments ?
The house is already on the market
Just wondering really,

Thanks in advance ;)

How much equity in FMH?

What are your housing plans?

Could you afford to pay mortgage and running costs of FMH from the income you will have? If it isn't far bigger than your needs it may be cheaper to stay there.

If a court orders that you can stay until children are older then it doesn't really matter if he refuses or not!

How much of the equity will you need to purchase a suitable 3 bed house with your mortgage raising capacity?

I can raise a mortgage but i will need approx £160,000 total budget would be £325,000 to purchase a decent 3 bedroom in the local area (i will have to move further which i am willing to do for peace of mind).
He cannot raise a mortgage and states that he will be renting at £1,500 per calender month ??
He has also stated that i need to downsize to a 2 bed

Given ages of children you need 3 bed even if they are the same sex.

Have you thought about staying in FMH until youngest is 18 and paying ex his share at that point?

Might be cheaper than moving

This has been going on for over 4 years now and initially i wanted to stay in the fmh until my youngest turned 18. My ex has harrassed me to the point i had to get an injunction, he now harrasses our eldest daughter and this is all because of the house. I understand your point about it being cheaper and have gone blue in the face trying to get this point across to him , he wants his money NOW. I need to be rid of him finally for my mental well being. He has a solicitor and a Barrister who are awful, I am representing myself as i have no choice.
