OMG Richard, you were awarded costs!?

May I touch your coat? Lol, at last someone finally got some recompense for being messed about and a miscreant got 'punished' - Hurrah!

Good for you mate! More of this is required in the divorce process as faith in its fairness is pitifully low.

Thanks for letting us know, I am sure a great many people will appreciate it.

Well done on that and the appeal result!

Cheers!

Sorry a quick question Richard. The 40% costs she had to pay of yours, was that just the appeal costs or the whole divorce costs? I'd love to know

Thanks

Yes the costs were quite a nice icing on the cake - paid for me and the kids to go to Florida on holiday :)

I will do my best over the next week or so to post up the full story and as much paperwork as I can get together, there is quite a bit of it!

Cheers
Richard

BRM,

I was awarded 40% of all the divorce costs - basically it was down to her that it got as far as the final hearing due to her trying to conceal her business finances, cohabitation with a new partner and various other aspects including stealing all of our childrens savings to pay her legal fees (which the judge has ordered her to pay back)! The appeal was basically a letter from her solicitor arguing certain points of the judgment and the judge then throwing them all out. I'm just waiting for his final paperwork and hopefully a cheque from madam to my solicitor! However, it wouldn't surprise me if she tried now to take it to high court but I don't think she has much chance of any success.

Cheers
Richard

Thanks Richard. That's great news that the one who lies & cheats pays for it. Very well done for standing fast on it.

Best wishes for yours & your childrens future.

Cheers

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news....but as she has not yet formally made an application to appeal, she could now decide to do so, although the up side is she will need the permision of the court to apply as I assume she is outside of the 28 day time limit and the merits of the appeal can be considered at the time she applies for permission.

Again on the upside, costs usually follow the event on appeal - which means if she does get through the permission stage but ultimately fails in her appeal, she pays all the costs for both of you.
