Hi all

My son is in FTE and the course finishes in July 2016 and he will have turned 20 in March 16.
My question therefore is do I stop paying when he turns 20 in March 16, when the course concludes in July 16 or do I have to continue until Sept 16?

This isn''t about me ceasing support as that will continue just the formalised payments
I''m on the original CSA system which I started in 2000. There are no court orders.

Many thanks in advance

Not really sure and hopefully someone else will know the correct answer but child benefit and CTC would cease on 31 August so presumably the CSA follows the same?
That''s what happened in my case and I didn''t have a court order just usual arrangement - maybe the best option if you get different answers is ring the CSA and ask them.
Mine was paid a month in arrears whether that makes a difference not sure. Sorry.

Thanks Gillian

I will call them if I have to but thought there must be someone out there that has some knowledge first. :)

Not sure if mine is paid in arrears or not it''s been going on for nearly 18 years and I have no idea where the paperwork is now.

For those interested.

I have contacted CSA and have been told that the payments for child support cease on my sons 20th birthday regardless of what they are doing.

Yes the age went up from 19 to 20 a couple of years ago but the rest of the details around termination dates remained the same
