Hi All,

I just literally joind the site, and am wits end. I don''t even know were to begin bcause I am a self-repper with a FINAL HEARING in April... I do not know what to do... I trying to get my ex to pay me back payments - arrears of maintenance I have heard it called - for child maintenance. We''gve got no agreement between us, and he did strt paying when my son and me left his/our flat where we had staid several years without rent or mortgage, but he did not pay before.

AM i being totally daft to try to get a luymp sum off of him when we go to court?

I have a ton of other questions, but thought I''d start off with ths one!

Lots of love,

S&L

In short no, child maintenance is covered by the CSA/cemec, the final hearing you have is to decide assets income liabilitys and pensions and how they should be shared between you and you ex.

Gosh, that''s depressing!

I just made a quick list:

Assets: none
Income: we both work (I think I actually make as much as he does now : P )
Liabilities: debts and such, I guess, he;s go t a lot of debt, and I have a fiar amount too.
Pension: we are both very young(ish) so not much in terms of pensions.

I was really hoping that I could argue that he owes me money from not payig child support...

boo.

Hi Driven,

Yes, we have exchangd form es. Pretty grim reading to tell you the truth!

To be honest, I do not really know how we got this far, bt am afraid it is because I can''t let go or accept that I''m going to be left iwth nothing.

Ok not to panic
Firstly have you been to your gp and spoken to them? It sounds as if you could do with a little support in the form of maybe some tablets and definitely some counciling don''t take his as being a bad thing it''s not divorce is not easy

Secondly get your paperwork all together and give the helpline a call they will be able to guide you through it

Lastly keep posting we are all here to help you
Xx
