Help.
I am due to go on holiday with my daughter to Turkey at the end of August. He said fine when I booked it in January but is now saying he won't let me take her because of the issues there. I have paid for the holiday in full and he has her passport as he just took her away. What can I do?

Thanks

What is the current advise regarding travelling to Turkey?

If it is considered safely to travel to Turkey then you could apply for a specific issue order.

If you are going to a coastal resort, I think they are relatively unaffected by the recent developments.

I have friends travelling to Turkey over the summer as a family and they too had concerns over their holiday. Personally, I think your husband is genuinely concerned as many people are and that is understandable. Withholding the passport might just be a knee-jerk reaction. I'm not sure what sort of relationship you have with him, but if possible I would sit down and discuss his concerns. Is there anything that can be done to put his mind at ease. ie. give him a print out of the foreign office advice on travel to Turkey, provide him with your hotel details/itinerary for the trip, show him that you have suitable travel insurance in place etc etc.

Failing this, the court order would probably be your best option as previously advised.

I hope you get this sorted without needing a court order and that you have an enjoyable holiday with your family.B)
