Hi all , im new here !

I left my husband just over 2 years ago , and have been divorced a year . He has been very bitter and twisted through out this time and still remains the same.

Over the two years he has used the kids contact against me many times i.e ithink you better keep them etc . I never riled to the situation.

Its recently come to light that my ex has told a friend he wants to bring me down and take everything away from me .

about two weeks ago my ex hubby rang social services cos our 5 yr old son had disclosed that he had his willy in someones face. My oldest son said that he was jumping around on the bed and did try doing it on perpose .My son wastold how rude etc this is and was told not to do it .

My ex then said our oldest son has disclosed that he has seen cannabis in my home and that of a friend. I assured my ex that i didnt smoke canabis and that my children are not around it .He said he has had enough and was going for residence.

So social services came out to the house and had an interview with me , they said that everything was fine with the way i had dealt with the matters and that of my ex hubby taking the children from school and keeping them from me ( they reside with me and go to him on a fri and sun evening).

They had an interview with the children this week too and again said that everything was fine , they said my 5 yr old was very shy and they didnt feel it neccesary to ask him about the willy thing .

they did say that my 11 year old had disclosed he wanted to live with his father because he has a "special attachment" with him and felt safer there because of his front door ?

They also had interviews with the other boy and his parents too , again nothing untoward.

So we went to court yesterday for the second time and his solicitor keept going on about the drug thing and they want a hair strand test , so i now have to have a hair strand test and the court also ordered a full section 7 report but said that caffcas wouldnt likely touch it and would leave it to social services as they are already involved . They reckon this will all take about 12 weeks .so for now the normal living arrangements resume as the judge said the status quo should stay ..his solicitor asked that the 11 yr old be able to move and the judge said no they must stay together for now anyway

I told my solicitor that there may be cannabis in my hair due to the fact that on my evening off from the kids ( when with dad) i do sit with people that smoke this ...so you could say i passivly smoke ???

I dont know what my chances are ? i dont know what happens if the test proves positve ? im in limbo and have 12 weeks of this !!

any advice or suggestions etc would be great

You are not going to like this but what are you doing hanging round with people who smoke cannabis at all?

1. You don't have an "evening off" your kids are your kids whether they are with you or their father. Same as they are his wherever they happen to be. If one of the kids had to be taken to hospital and your ex was unable to look after the other one because he was too drunk would you think that was acceptable? If you have cannabis in your system this is the same thing.

2. Cannabis can stay in the system for up to nine hours after it has been inhaled, you have no idea of the strength or amount your friends are using (I assume this as you state you are an innocent bystander). So if your friends are smoking late in the evening the drug will still be affecting you when the kids come home in the morning.

Yes I'm being judgemental, but cannabis these days is not the mild hippy stuff that would just make you happy like it was in the 60s and 70s. Ask your friends would they mind not smoking it when you are there for the sake of your kids, if they won't they are not very good friends and you need to ditch them.

Not an expert, but I would imagine that a hair strand test has to show that the person tested has smoked cannabis, rather than just being in the same room as someone who is smoking. Otherwise there'd be no point in doing the test.

Cannabis smoke is not known to impact on results. The way hair strand tests work is by measuring drug molecules which are embedded in the hair strand and arrived via the bloodstream. Cannabis can be detected in hair months or even years in some cases after use. Also periods free from drugs will show in the strand.

No i appriciate your honesty , thats what i came for ....

I have my children back at 8pm the next day and i dont continually hang around it , its been like the odd day here or there , since this has come to light i have asked that it not be smoked around me and they have all obliged willingly !

I can understand that you dont have a night off as a parant but not ever going for a drink because one might have to rush to hospital is a bit harsh ! I am a very dedicated mum to my children on my days and when its there dads turn thats my time to let my hair down ...and again i dont smoke drugs

Ive took on board that it has to be in your blood stream but if its second hand smoke will that bit be out of it or will that get inhaled by myself and show in my blood stream ?

so basicly is it tests positive i know it doesnt look good but what are my chances and again if it tests negative . Baring in mind this has all been said to the judge and he has still awarded they reside with me for the time being ?

thankyou for replying
