I'm in a bit of a pickle. My new partner had a very acromonious split with her former partner two years ago. She has been absent due to homelessness for that period although had sporadic contact with the children when allowed by the ex. There were domestic violence issues. My partner applied for a contact order and went to court to be ambushed by CAFCASS. She has been making good contact with the boys and was ready to drop the formal proceedings and broker a deal between solicitors and her ex. CAFCASS have other idea's and are pursuing their own line. In any event crb checks are flying about and as the new partner i have been requested to undergo a check. My problem is that i have a five year old conviction that is unspent that absolutely no one knows about. Is this going to be published for all parties to see in the CAFCASS section 7 report???? The conviction was for an offence under the theft act and is the only offence, sentence being 6 months.

Yours depressed

I think you'll find cafcass are looking for criminal records involving child abuse and violence convictions etc rather than just basic criminal offences same as they do for staff where I work as they'll be working with children.

Something minor like that I wouldn't think they'd worry about.
