Hello everyone. I posted about my situation (a few threads down) but I have another worry/concern regarding my step-son.

He was due to be relocated to England by his mum at the end of August. To re-cap: His mum has lived in England for six years and step-son has stayed with her parents (where they resided before she moved for her career) with very regular overnight contact with us as they would not allow residence and we as our boy was healthy and happy we did not want to upset things.

Anyhow, since the news of relocation we've tried and failed to negociate contact and have subsequently applied to the court for contact, residency and prohibited steps. We are due to attend the directions hearing this week.

What has happened is she has relocated my step-son early - from the beginning of school holidays and has cut-off his mobile phone so we cannot contact him. We feel she will use this time to manipulate him because she has always exposed him to emotional manipulation in the past - especially when it comes to his dad (my dh).

I'm assuming CafCass will get involved. If they speak with our boy (he's 10) will they be able to tell if he's speaking honestly or has been primed for the interview so to speak? He's said that the he doesn't want to go but has agreed because he doesn't like it when his mum cries and her partner kept on and on at him until he said ok.

Also, how will the prohibited steps come into play? She was aware of our application before she moved our boy. Could she be made to bring him back until the case is settled?

Thanks for any advice and sorry for the long post x
