I fled my home last January after an awful assault. My kids were 4 and 6. We stayed in a refuge and then I rented a flat for a month before the refuge workers and police helped me to move home.

I wish I'd never left. I wish I'd gone to the police, got an injunction. But everyones situation is different and all we can do is the what we think is right at the time. The refuge was awful but the support was invaluable and they helped me face up to the abuse I was suffering from. PM me anytime, look after yourself and your kids and don't worry about him. xxxxxx

I used to help women in your situation as I was a Legal Executive for several years doing emergency injunctions connected with domestic violence. It spelt the end of my legal career in seeing first hand how devastating a destructive relationship like this is and time and time again the women go back and subject themselves to more.

I cant add much to what has already been said except to say dont loose touch with how you feel right now. Please stay focused on whats right for you and be strong. Loads of peeps here to help and make sure you contact those organisations who know how to help which will make you feel so much better. If you dont want to stay in a refuge no one is going to make you.

Good luck, things will be fine and be sure to keep us all informed ;)
