Can the applicant change the Ancilliary relief to a case for spousal maintenance in addition to a lump sum and part of my pension - this was a question on statement of issue before First Appointment

The form a is only a guide to what is being sought.
SM can be proposed but whether is is a viable proposition depends on a: needs and b: ability to pay.

SM is not very common now. The courts want to see each party maximising their earnings. It is also deducted £ for £ from benefits if they are being claimed.
